November 13, 2015, Soroptimist International of Palm Desert hosted the House of Hope Residents for a very special night at the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountain National Monument in Palm Desert.
The House of Hope clients along with SI Palm Desert Members, enjoyed a beautiful sunset as they paused during their short hike/tour to see the property. One of the monument volunteers gave a 45 min. guided tour of the property explaining the different plants and how the Indians used them for their cooking and medicinal uses. The group enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner on the patio overlooking the Coachella Valley, watched a short film of how vast and beautiful the monument is and its history. A special thank you to Soroptimister Jess Rosenberg and Soroptimist Janice Hermosa who are both Volunteers at the Visitors Center. It was an extraordinary evening enjoyed by all.
